Package Bees: 3 lbs of Italian honey bees in a screened cage with VSH Italian mated & marked queen in a separate screened queen cage. The known gentle genetics of these Italian Honey Bees make them ideal for Backyard Beekeeping in Los Angeles. Packages can be installed in any style hive. We use and recommend Langstroth hives.

The VSH-Italian queen bee is raised and naturally mated in isolated Northern, CA where there are no Africanized genetics ensuring gentle behaving offspring. Yes, they can still sting.

PRE-ORDER 2025 opens November 1st

Package bees are only available once per year in the spring.

Pre-orders for package bees begin November 1st the previous year and continue until 24hours before the scheduled pickup weekend. Estimated pickup date for package bees is typically 2nd or 3rd weekend of April. Dates may change due to circumstances outside of our control (ie weather, queen availability). If so, you will be informed promptly.

Package Bees cannot be re-scheduled for pickup outside of the set distribution weekend due to their time sensitive nature.

RESTOCKING CHARGE: On all orders that are cancelled there is a $50 restocking fee per item for package bees, nucleus colonies, and complete hives. There is a $30 restocking fee per item for Queen bees. To cancel an order call or text us with your first and last name and order number 818-312-1691

REFUND POLICY: ALL orders that have not been picked up, cancelled, or otherwise communicated intent within 24hrs of the pick up date will be considered a "no show" meaning the order is automatically cancelled and is no longer eligible for delayed pickup or for any refund, full payment is forfeited.

Contact INFO: You must provide full and accurate contact information during the order process so we can communicate with you regarding your order. As soon as an arrival date is known, we will send out an email with important pickup details. Every attempt will be made to contact you about bee distribution pickup; however, it is incumbent upon you to pickup your bees at the appointed date and time stated by Bill's Bees Inc.
